Safety first & always
Remember to fly safe: - higher glider gives way to lower; - faster to slower, - right wing tip to cliff has right of way.

The Sydney Paragliding & Hang Gliding Club fly and manage some of the most scenic and easily accessible coastal flying sites in Australia - along the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney.
Come to one of our meetings to meet other local pilots and learn more about 'free flying'. We meet at the Harbord Bowls club on the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm, where we discuss the latest learnings, developments and equipment in 'free flying'.
Explore the following pages to learn more or visit the Contact Us page to arrange a tandem flight - either for yourself or a loved one, to find out how to learn to free fly, improve your flying or meet like-minded pilots.
If you are intending to fly one of our sites for the first time, please contact a safety officer. The club has many safety officers and you will often find one on the hill or in the air. New and visiting pilots must contact a member of the club and become familiar with the rules before flying sites.
Helping our community
Some of our members recently helped a person who had not flown before: Neville couldn't walk and wanted to know if he could fly?!
Neville presented a special case in that he could not move much of his body, making take-off challenging.
With the help of some SPHG pilots we got Neville airborne. "It was the most challenging disabled launch I have undertaken," said club vice president Greg Hurst. "There were no wingovers or 360s - Neville was happy just to walk on sunshine."
